"These tables are really quite unusual. The boards are very rare. The supplier was actually upset when I found the 20 best boards out of thousands of board feet. I have never been able to find boards even close to as good again.
"Additionally, the process was backward from my norm. The creation was not carried out by my use of materials. The materials dictated the method.
"The mosaic pieces where washed with paint, scored with a band saw and burned with a torch."
